Learn To Read

Learn To Read

The act of reading, some people say, would have to be one of the best means of exercising one’s intellect – this does not mean that the only way to learn, is to learn to read, but there is in fact a certain advantage to being able to decipher texts that try to communicate ideas and emotions to the rest of the world. Learning by listening, observing, and by example are, of course, very important, but in the absence of these outside forces, the only other means of learning for a person is through text. To learn to read is to step into a world of inner insight that is quite hard to express in any other medium.

Thoughts in particular are better conveyed in text form, which is why there is an abundance of philosophical and theoretical texts rather than philosophical and theoretical lectures – there is often a deliberate structure in text that allows you to get into the rhythm and progression of thoughts. To learn to read is to be able to follow this natural progression; to learn to read is to train yourself to see organization of thought, and to learn to structure your OWN thoughts. This is why this domain was set up – if you know people who want to learn to read, then this is the resource that you can use to help them.
